As reported last week MechWarrior Online was planning on having an open beta starting Oct. 16th. According to a post over on the forums from lead designer Paul Inouye, “We have decided to push Open Beta back. We agree that the game’s current state of stability is not allowing us to get the latest experience across to new and veteran players alike. This is a short push back on the date and will depend on the stability and playability of the build.” While there is no firm date on when the open beta will be ready for deployment, this is one to watch in the coming days. Set in the year 3049 during the early stages of a massive interstellar war, MechWarrior Online puts you in command of the most powerful war machine to ever walk the field of battle, the mighty BattleMech.
The game will allow players to customize their mechs and go head-to-head online alone or with friends in high-octane Conquest and VS modes.
Also, just in time for Halloween, Square Enix and co-developer United Front Games announced at New York’s Comic-Con that a new DLC game mode for the game Sleeping Dogs is set to descend on Oct. 30 and is titled ‘Nightmare in Northpoint.’ The new campaign will integrate themes from Hong Kong horror films with Sleeping Dogs’ crime drama roots. After a gang member is tortured and killed by the Triad, he returns from the grave with an army of zombies and vampires straight from Eastern folklore. Wei Shen, (the main character in the title) will be armed with some magical tea and some weapons from Chinese myth, and is tasked with defeating the creatures before they overwhelm the Triad.
Another eagerly anticipated game, Assassin’s Creed 3 has released a new multiplayer video showcasing unique locales, characters, abilities, perks and modes — ranging from classic approaches such as Deathmatch to co-op and team-based modes like Wolfpack and Domination. Enjoy it here:
