Activision confirmed today that development studio Neversoft is working on an unnamed Call of Duty title.
Confirmation comes via the studio’s website, which is currently advertising for staff to join its CoD team. Among the roles available are singleplayer and multiplayer level designers, as well as concept artists and animators.
The posting says, “We have molded our team into a crack squad of eager developers ready to push the First Person Action genre in support of Activision’s Call of Duty franchise.”
No details have been released about which game is actually being developed.
What is odd about this whole thing is that Neversoft is best known for the Tony Hawk series and in recent years that have developed Guitar Hero titles….this will be their first ever FPS. Talk about taking a large jump? One of video gamings top FPS….should be an interesting next couple of years for Call of Duty fans.
As I stated in a previous editorial….the jump to the future in Black Ops 2 and now bringing a developing studio with absolutely zero experience with FPS has to raise some concerns with fans in the longevity of the franchise? What are you thoughts?
